Little Sisters of the Poor Card Party

A number of us ventured out to support the Little Sisters of the Poor and to hopefully win something really terrific as well as to enjoy ourselves. First, there was a fashion show.... and then the drawings for the prizes. there were lots of winners, just not many seated at our table, although Ade did win a tote bag. I learned that almost no one actually plays cards at "card" parties.

Big Purple Undies

What a show!!! Over 650 of us delighted in a meal that started with dessert in true Red Hat tradition along with a few cocktails and ended with an absolutely hilarious show featuring Lou, from Australia, regaling us with stories that women our age could all relate to. Then on stage, Queen Sharon assisted in holding up the BIG BIG Purple Undies - even stepping into them to dance with 2 other ladies. Who can forget our lesson in turning Kotex into slippers??And Joan, the lady who needs a man, winning and wearing on her hat the purple men's briefs. And .... oh the shopping. most of us spent more than we planned on spicing up our Red Hat regalia!

Red Hat Society Day Tea at the Edison

Those Spindle city Divas did it again - another gathering of Red Hats in our community. A sea of purple and red was in evidence as tea and cucumber sandwiches were served. After another bout of shopping, we enjoyed each other and the tea and concluded by loud singing to entertain all as our photos were taken.

The Strange Case of Sheik Yerbuti - Beardslee Castle

A damp, chilly evening brought us to Beardslee Castle (aka Yerbuti embassy) to attend a diplomatic reception and treaty signing. The Queen of England was even seated at our table and a part of the celebration! But as the drama unfolded, there was a murder in our midst and we became junior detectives to help solve the case. Pat S ran around the room collecting clues, and we still managed to enjoy a few cocktails and a great dinner served family style. We laughed during the humorous show and did our best to figure it out, but weren't very good detectives with solving the mystery.
