Krause'sClambake with the Red Hat Dollies

Rain again!!!! But at least, there is a large pavillion at Krauses. Along with about 70 other Red Hatters, we enjoyed an old fashioned clam bake - starting with picnic foods to start, clam chowder, and lots of raw clams and a little beer and soda. After we Rowdies tried (only somewhat successfully) to learn to line dance, won a few door prizes and Gabe danced with our inflatable husband, they brought out the steamed clams, steak, lobster, chicken, corn on the cob and all of the fixings. And we feasted - just like you are supposed to at these events. Then there was ice cream.... yummy.

Tubing on the Upper Hudson

All week before we were scheduled to go tubing, the weather was great! But on our day, it was cloudy, chilly, and threatening to storm. But we persevered!! After the tubing company told us the bus would be following along our path and we could get out if there was lightning, we suited. (It turns out that the bus was no where in sight and there was no place to get out of the river anyway). But the weather held out, the water was really warm after the initial cold shock, and the laughing good time started as soon as Elinore fell in the water right at the start saving her wine cooler from spilling. After floating down the river with a little help from our young, handsome guides and me jumping off a rock into a deep water hole, we finished our day and headed down the Northway until the Olive Garden called to us for dinner and a cocktail. Definately, something to do again!
