Sunday, August 30 at the Joe

We are nothing if not persistent! After our rainout at the baseball game, we came back using our raincheck tickets. This time the weather was hot and sunny - perfect for baseball. The Valley Cats lost, but it didn't damper our enthusiasm. After the game, we participated in the on-field diamond dig for a .5 carat diamond. Donna was the closest - she was next to the lady who found it. And then we enjoyed fireworks - a true mid-summer treat!

Red Hat Day at the "Joe"

It started out warm and sunny. We journeyed to Troy to the "Joe" Stadium, hone of the Valley Cats for their Red Hat Day. We all found our seats and chatted with ladies fromother chapters, admiring a Red Hat fashioned with baseball cards and a baseball booble-head on top. As the clouds rolled in, we paraded on the field from left field to the first baseline, with out lips, bells, clackers and cheers from the crowd. We high-fived all the Valley Cats on the field. A guy took videos of the parade to send to us. Just as we left the field, the rains came..... and came.... and came.... So, determined to have a good time, we had dinner at Panara's and then dessert and conversation at Patti's House. So, we now still have tickets for another baseball adventure.

Joanne's 60th Birthday Party

A fun-loving Red Hatter invited us over for her own birthday and tells us we can bring nothing. So we have no choice but to bring a Red Hat cake with ice cream, old age gifts, and...... a gorgeous male stripper with a body to kill for. After we delighted in a spectacular spread of culinary delights (which were all low calorie, fat free of course!), we all enjoyed each other's company and shared a game of bocce. As we gathered inside for our Red Hat trivia game (which we actually enjoyed later), our special guest arrived with a rose. He kissed our birthday girl on the cheek, presented a rose, started lap dancing and put on quite a show sharing his "act" with several of us lucky ladies. Later, we enjoyed gifts including "Pin the Junk on the Hunk", a Hot Flash kit, and a specially decorated Red Hat cane with a rear view mirror and bulb horn to assist Joanne in her aging process. A great time was had by all!!!
