Queen Gen's Kerhonsen mini-vention 10/24/08 - 10/26/08

We attended this convention en mass ... all of us seeking a fun, fabulous weekend and we got it! We were the chapter with the most attendees and became the Rowdy Scarletts Three Ring Bling-Bling Circus for the costume event. We still think we won the contest although the judges didn't agree. We danced until our feet and backs and necks hurt, enjoyed glamour, glitz and bling at the formal dinner evening, ate breakfast in our PJ's and jewelry, enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, came in second in the Hat contest, and shopped and became Ade and Chucky's best customers for new hats. We also tried to buy out the other vendors and were almost successful. We enjoyed living up to our "Rowdy" name.

SCCC Banquet with the Ripe Tomatoes

What a fabulous dinner!!! SCCC has a culinary department and the Ripe Tomatoes made reservations and invited us to join them! We are grateful to have been invited to share this occasion with sisters! I have no doubt that graduates of this program will do well in the culinary world and they can cook for me anytime!

The Headless Horseman

It is the time of year for ghosts, spiders, scary things, men with chain saws, witches, hay rides, haunted houses, haunted corn mazes, and a headless man chasing us on horseback. We traveled to Ulster Park to a Halloween park and experienced all of the scary things I listed and MORE! We experienced Grimm's fractured fairy tales on the hayride and enjoyed an illusion magic show. And we did it at night in the dark! Later, just because we are good Red Hatters, we stopped at a diner for dessert, Yum !!!

Red Hat Day on the Lac du Sacrement

On this glorious autumn afternoon, we cruised Lake George enjoying a terrific buffet luncheon and fall foliage with about 150 Red Hatters. We participated in hat contests, twist contests (you go, Lydia), danced and just enjoyed pretending we were the wealthy owners of some of the Lake George mansions we cruised past. Of course, on the way home, we stopped at the Bon Worth outlet store to purchase more absolutely necessary purple clothing and Red Hat sweatshirts!!!
