Christmas at the Tory Tavern

We are wise enough to learn from our mistakes. Last year, we were snowed out of our Tory Tavern christmas Party, so we held it EARLY this year. We had the whole downstairs of the Tavern to ourselves (the proprietors had also learned from the past and seperated us). We feasted on their fine cuisine and savored every sweet morsel of our desserts. Then of course, we had our wacky gift exchange (orchestrated by Elinore) so we could each recive the gift of our dreams after it traveled around the room several times. And, as always, shared the joy of friendship, laugher, and sisterhood.

Cooperstown Beverage Trail and lunch at Brooks BBQ.

We hit the road to try to collect our Cooperstown Beverage Trail special souvenir glass and to try the wines and beers of the Leatherstocking counties. But first, of course, we enjoyed Brooks Original BBQ - still the best there is. We visited and sampled at the Fly Creek Cider Mill with its smorgasbord of tastings of gourmet items; Brewery Ommegang where we tasted varieties of Belgian beers ( not to most of our tastes); Cooperstown Brewing Company and more beer ( still not to all of our tastes) , and Bear Pond Winery where we sampled a variety of local wines (only some of us loved trhem).

Mermaids PJ Party

Again this year, we enjoyed the Mermaids PJ Party. And as always, they put on a lovely show and gave away great door prizes. Who would have ever believed that we would actually, in our older and finer age, actually go out in our pajamas? But of course we also have our glitz, wigs, and sleep bonnets.
